Case Details
This 51 year-old breast cancer survivor required some revision surgery for her breasts after her mastectomies. Since she was going to have that procedure, she wanted to know what else might be done to help enhance her contours. She visited with Dr. Kunkel in his plastic surgery office near the Fort Worth Medical District to learn about options. Dr. Kunkel discussed doing liposuction, and placing some of that fat into her reconstructed breasts. She also decided to undergo a tummy tuck at the same time. Her surgery took place at a Fort Worth hospital and she went home the same day. Dr. Kunkel removed 9 ½ inches of skin from the midline of her abdomen during her abdominoplasty (that’s about the length of a piece of notebook paper)! Liposuction resulted in removal of 1.6 liters of fat and fluid (about ¾ of a 2 liter Coke bottle). Her result is shown two months later. Keep in mind that each person is unique, and individual results will vary.
